An Export Slaughter Interval (ESI) is the time period which should elapse between administration of a veterinary chemical to animals and their slaughter for export.
An information service about Export Slaughter Intervals (ESIs) is available on the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority’s website.
Previously managed by Meat and Livestock Australia, this joint project is a united approach by industry and government to more effectively communicate important information about ESIs to users of animal health products.
